梁靜茹 - 崇拜

You're all busy....too bad cause you can't stop me from sneaking in with a little surprise for that New Year's eve! ... My beloved Lian, the grand poppy mistress, has finally released a new album, it came out at the begining of last month, and i think it is great ... as usual!=D so mind you, when you write a comment!!lol more seriously though you may argue her style is quite the same, at least she has not lost an ounce of her wonderful voice...and she's still endowed with that magical power that carries me away! ^^ ... what's more surprising is that there is a track with some french in it ... and though there are just a few words, they are correctly pronounced ... which is an undeniable proof that she is the bestest!ah ah! =) well many warriors are bound to be disappointed with that one but at least their wives shall enjoy it! ...every cloud has a silver lining as we say! ;)

Raging Speedhorn - We Will Be Dead Tomorrow

listen to that racket away in the woods! the benighted guys from Raging Speedhorn sure need some room to play their music!^^ angry riffers hovering between the power ozzing from true rock'n'roll spirit ... almost punk like... and the heavyness of metal .... add on top of that very cool and agressive vox in the line of hardcore singers ...that even turn into guttural death-like vox at times! ... it's like spitting hot blood in the face of your worst enemy ... and better twice than once ... cause there are two vocalists actually! ah ah! To cut it short, they have the attitude and energy of the Hellacopters, and the sound of that good old Godsend ... that is a 70's inspired, grainy, fat and chunky, low pitched guitar sound that seems to linger forever unless it is stopped or deflected into another massive and devastating powerchord! Ride with the devil?? oh yeah.. sure we will! on your bikes warriors! \m/

[Air Guitar Battle] Michael Orlando - Sonic Stomp 2006

N.Y.C has always been a breeding ground for incredible artists...Michael Orlando is one of them, a serious contestant for our Air Guitar Battle! Being a fan of Ron Thal/Bumblefoot i could not miss that one album since the great master appears on it ... and actually for the little story he is the one who told Micheal where to get the super axe he needed to fight...a Vigier! Besides their style are somehow echoing each other at times... Well, don't expect any bluesy feel with 1 note every three measures here (though it happens as well ...well more like 5 or 6! eh eh!!) ...indeed we're in another unscrutable quantic dimension where a million notes can be squeezed in a split second...and yet feel, like a giant big hole, will suck you in whatever you do to resist the attraction! ...finally, even if this guy is over technical ...cause that what he is!lol ...he sure knows how to use his skills not to bore you to death ... don't worry...everything runs smooth over here...you just need to get used to travel at twice the speed of light! =D

The Destro - As The Coil Unwinds [2007]

Another cool band, coming from Texas...one thing that has always astouned me regarding them is the number of people that label this band "Death" or even "grindcore"...well, from my standards we are far from what i call that!lol ...i think i have finally found people that are worse than me at tagging a band! ah ah!... basically if you like stuff in the vein of pantera, that band should remain in your favorite for quite a while! =) the music is quite heavy and powerful with good riffs and quite a chunky sound, strongly reminiscent of the one illdisposed created for itself IMO! the massive production gives each songs all the agressivity it needs to make you feel like ripping everything down! ^^

Mystic Prophecy - Savage Souls (2006)

This one band, if you have not listened to it yet, should really please you (and as usual i hope it's no replay!)! a little and concise description about their music...when you'll open the pandora box, in a big flash of colourful light, an incredible combination will be cast into the air.... pounding riffs and great leads on the one hand, powerful drumming and cool vox on the other...and to top it all a blasting bass that rope all that up! believe me, these guys will make your head move like hell...so i hope you're no longer too dizzy from the previous war...or you neck might snap! ah ah! enjoy!

VA - Merry Axemas - A Guitar Christmas

Before X-mas is over in TW i must hurry to play that one!lol no big description needed, just very good axeman playing the famous x-mas tune. in order of appearance you have kenny wayne sheperd, eric johnson, jeff beck, the brian stezer orchestra, joe satriani, steve morse, steve vai, joe perry, alex lifeson, richie sambora and finally hotei! As you can see not the worst people they could find! i think it's cool to listen to how they revamped those songs in their manner...besides the title though it is appropriate for that period of the year, also befits any warriors..since not everyone call "axe" the same thing! ah ah! ...so hope you enjoy! ...and Merry Axe-Mas to you broz!

莫文蔚 - X

Yeah, i know, toxic war is already over! but indeed that last play triggered something else from HK (one titletrack in particular, "如果还有以后")...莫文蔚 may look like a poppy doll, well she's not! alright, alright ...but not that much even so! ^^ her style is rather ecclectic and i think you might like what she does...don't worry, it's not like the japanese childish pop i find funny for instance! she uses jungle rhythms very often but also sounds/loops that are to be found in Hip Hop or even keyboards reminiscent of Visual Kei!...and at times there are distorted guitars...actually each song has it's own style and what's great is that her voice adapts those changes! so she can sound either aggressive or very sweet, depending on the moment!...it is chiefly mainstream, but at least she proved she mastered all the different aspect of it! rock on!

Herbie Hancock - Future 2 Future 2001

As you'll hear it is not exactly like Krush but as i said i think their styles somewhat echo each other. H.H is mainly known for what he does in jazz but this one album, if it is still jazz, has nothing convetionnal in it! the music is done with samplers and turntable ...and a few keyboards of course! well, if you are acquainted with Herbie's sort of psychedelic style then you should feel comfortable in no time...i understand that perhaps some of his fan from the early fusion style period may be a little disappointed but to me H.H just shows with this record what a talented musician he is, no matter what he uses to make his music....if a bad workman blames his tool as we say, then not an instrument in this world need to fear him! ah ah! enjoy!

[TOXIC WAR] Element 1 - Uncivilized Music Compilation 1999

This will certainly be my last play in that war, as tomorrow i won't have time to play anything else before it is over! but indeed i have plenty to listen now so it's not a problem!lol So what about that last one? well, have you ever seen that movie called the terminator? Element 1 is a compilation that will bring you into kindda the same world... where human beings or natural sounds have utterly vanished...however music still exists...only it's been replaced by the rumble of machines, the clatter of hot steel being hammered, or... waves modulations! yep!....no water left, only a green glowing waste! ^^

[TOXIC WAR] Laurent Hô - Syntetic 1997

Laurent Hô is perhaps already known to you...here is not very famous though many people from the techno movement in europe know who he is or have already heard about him. He is french and i used to listen to his stuff a lot when i was younger. His style is tekno but it is definitely different from that of most of the people making that kind of music...Laurent Hô doesn't rely that much on a pounding bass as he virtaully makes the machines dance or speak!lol he is certainly very intoxicating from that point of view as the work he does to get his own soundscape is really impressive....so if you like it industrial, then this is your man! have fun!

[TOXIC WAR] Blockhead - Downtown Science

Blockhead walks a fine path between many different styles...the rhythm is grounded in Hip Hop most of the time but as far as everything else is concerned, the musical scope used here is quite extended! going from R&B to rock, to electronic or even heavy metal riffs, then suddenly a smidgen of blues or a traditional tinges is cast forth and take over ....well i let you do the listing of all that is to be found in there!lol what is sure is that this artist's mind is brimming over with original ideas and should not bore you for a split second! enjoy! =D

[TOXIC WAR] DJ Krush - Zen

You certainly know Dj Krush as he is an important figure on the hip hop stage. This album has plenty of featuring and i think that is its main interest, cause the music in itself though it is cool, reminds me a lot of stuff Herbie Hancock does when he indulges in that genre....well, it's not a harsh criticism being compared to Herbie Hancock! Anyway, the album is pretty cool ...funky and smooth...and the different textures Krush comes up with are always interesting...there is of course a lot of work which has been done on the sound itself, so don't miss it!^^

[TOXIC WAR] 鬼束ちひろ - This Armor

i don't think i ever played 鬼束ちひろ in here, so it was high time to fix that! her music combines some jazzy melodies with more conventional rock ones....but overall, it is mainly J-pop. Her Voice is rather low pitched for a woman (especially if we compare it to the one of 刘芳!) but she has a truely great voice and i'm sure with such titletracks on her album, she'll have no problem corrupting your mind!lol enjoy!

[TOXIC WAR] 刘芳 - 声声醉 4

That artist bears the same name as the 琵琶 virtuoso also called 劉芳! but they are different persons, and of course plays different genres! but both of these 刘芳 have their style anchored in rather Chinese tradional music! the one here is on the vocal side and i just love her melodies, ...and above all her voice which is so sweet that it has the power to soothe you away! ah ah! i suppose she sings about love mainly or that kind of things,... though i hardly get a word!lol anyway, the perfect artist to relax at home while taking care of your loved one! =)

[TOXIC WAR] Keren Ann - Nolita (2005)

This is some strange band! ^^ actually i don't really know how to describe the music....it all seems like a long ballad to me..a stroll somewhere! and indeed that's why each of the songs from that album is to be considered more like an emotion or a feeling and not really like a song, ...though it is one of course! describing different moment of a same day during which you experience several moods...at times you feel like time has stopped... but there are suddenly sunbeams piercing through, shining on the melancoly around ....cause it is only melancoly, ..you never experience boredom...That is in a few words the kind of things you may feel or expect when you'll try to intoxicate yourself once again! hope that helps =)

[TOXIC WAR] Sylvain Chauveau - Des Plumes Dans La Tete

As you can see this is a french artist, but he is not at all famous and remains known to only a very small number of people. His music is minimalistic to say the least and you must pay as much attention to the sound itself as to the music work. Basically this is the OST of a movie ("feathers in your head") but that artist must be considered as some kind of poet making music rather than a musician only....difficult to describe but very emotional, this guy often re-uses his own theme and melodies but try to see them from a different angle....hope you like it!

[TOXIC WAR] Diva Destruction - Passion's Price

Diva Destruction is a band in which two women from the US launched into creating a strange mix between spacey electronic and gothic rock! to me it sound a bit like some pop stuff from the 80's, mostly because of that basic 4/4 drum rhythm made by a machine (sounds like it at least!lol) but that's not very important! the music is pretty cool and dark, almost like a remote church choir trying to summon old demons .... or lost lovers perhaps cause the lyrics revolves around rather romantic themes! ^^

[TOXIC WAR] Baphomet Engine - Baphomet Engine

Baphomet Engine comes from Brazil if i am not mistaken and was set up by two guys who are former metal heads! one was playing thrash metal and the other punk music. That's probably why these guys do not really sound like the usual zippy indulging into trance music!lol they have rather psychedelic and dark ambiances but what's more interesting is the wide array of sounds they use in their composition, plenty of texture and colours to subjugate your mind! it is quite impressive IMHO! enjoy!

[TOXIC WAR] Four Tet - Rounds

Four tet is some strange stuff for though it is electronic, it is not easy to pigeonhole (to me at least!) but one thing is for sure the music is really cool and laid back...this is not the irksome type! i discovered that band thanks to Radiohead, cause they were doing remixes for them, and since then it has stayed a band of interest to me...so i hope it will turn out to be one for you as well! =D

[TOXIC WAR] Yeska - Skafrocubanjazz

As this is just the beginning of the war, let's not play too toxic an album!lol yeska is an american band which i listened to quite a lot some years ago, a bit less now, though i still enjoy the music, no doubt about it! The musicianship is great and the music itself hovers between, jamaican and cuban music...and i must say those two styles blend together particularly well =D it's very funky and also very varied, though it remains within the compass of these two genres of course....what do we wait for? let's intoxicate ourselves!

过失乐队 - Never Say Die 2006

Well everybody is about to go to bed so i take advantage of it to play that great band from china! they play some punk-with-an-attitude music, almost hardcore at times! what i love most about this band is the voice of the vocalist and the high level of energy the band display,... they also use some kind of megaphone or some other sh$$, like dual vox to achive a great effect of anger, ...like some call for uprising!lol well, of course music-wise it's pretty basic, but these chinese guys have a knack for that old angry punkshit that makes me spine shiver! groovy and straightforward that how i like it..that's how they make it!! Moreover, the production is pretty decent, which is not often the case with rather "underground" punk...so one more reason to enjoy that rather short-but-intense in-your-face album! \m/

High Tone - Live 2003

This one band is unknown to most of you, i'm sure pretty sure about it! they come from a city called Lyon in the eastern part of france and they formed in 97 or so. They basically play Dub music, but they have also integrated plenty of other influences ranging from electro, to hip hop or Traditional, and even trance/techno music at times, so as to better widen their musical scope ...and the list is far from complete! =D in the end the outcome is just brilliant and the music itself is quite dynamic never letting you down for one second! well, it's not metal but almost as good as it! don't waste time, just light it up and rise on to cloud nine me brethren! ^^

Ten Kens -Ten Kens 2006

Welcome for a journey some 20 years back in time, despite the date displayed which is 2006! ever heard about these canadians, cause i'm not sure they are very famous indeed?! whatever..., this indie / psychedelic / pop /rock (pick one!lol) band plays some depressive, kindda angry songs in the style of the Doors and though it is utterly unoriginal if we consider their style, it is not that bad whatsoever! ah ah! Anyway, i was glad to listen to their stuff cause the melodies are pretty interesting and always entertaining, and what i like most is the fact that they have managed to get that peculiar rock sound, like a sort of sabbathian feel, that i like so much ...and which i think contribute a lot to set off the quality of their music ... well hope you enjoy!

Embers - The Gods Are Traitors (2007)

Before the war starts, i play that MDM band which i find rather good. To me the label MDM has always seemed like an heresy in itself....a bit like christian black metal!...WTF i always say to myself??? why not "happy suicidal doom" with "blarring noiseless scream"?!...some people read way too much poetry in this world! i wish i could tag my footprint on their butt like their tag their "commercial" rubbish to the music i like! ah ah! Anyway, Embers' style is nothing really new, but it's very well crafted and executed... there are plenty of breakdowns and mosh parts, cool "leads" once and a while.... the only thing nagging at me is that i sometimes find the snare drum to be
a bit weak for that style, i like it chunky and stout!...but that has more to do with the production than anything else! no other complaint otherwise! have fun! ;)

PS: this is not the cover at all but i like the picture! lol

Perhaps you are already well acquainted with that U.S band called BiS, but if that is not the case, then it should deserve all your attention for the next 40 minutes! Metalcore or that kind of "look-i-can-play-rhythm-only" metal tends to bore me to death in seconds most of the time, but this one is quite different, they have very complex chugging and heavy songs with very cool arrangements! in the end the 40 minutes of aggression that this album contains pass by at the speed of light! at times they recall me a bit that band called Soilwork but BiS's music is more elaborate and violent IMO, some tracks may even be considered Death ...just take the vox off "embrace the plague"...and what have we got left?? =D...well, what i like perhaps most in that album, is the sound, cause if this band is obviously not revolutionizing the genre, the production is definitely awesome and the drum stands out like mad, especially the double bass! yum yum!!^^ hope you enjoy, ...i can't get enough of it!

Discard - Carrion (2007)

Though i had plenty to do, i decided to spend my evening reinstalling and playing an old PC RPG game called Baldur's Gate (II)...it's been a while, years actually, since the last time i launched into some of the quests it contains, but nostalgia got a grip on me, and that definitely vivified my fighting spirit! The music in the game is cool, but it was definitely better once i added my own to it! ah ah! indeed i choose Discard as a soundtrack for the epic medieval battles i waged, and i must say i lost none, so this is certainly a good band for that kind of fantastic and heroic venturing! these guys are very groovy and they'll wreak havoc in your head, as a storm in a teapot!lol their chugging riffs will blow like a fresh wind over your face, ...and all of a sudden the sleepy warrior buried deep inside of you will surge and blaze forth with all his might! .... well obviously, one should not overindulge in Baldur's Gate, ...there are side effects!lol Rock on!

Otargos - Kinetic Zero (2007)

A black form has been hovering over our ship for quite some time now.... i was ready to stand and slash it to pieces, but it eventually turned out to be only the black shroud the Antigöd wrapped the ship in during his absence!ah ah! having noticed a grin caused by the violence and brutality of his fellow counterparts, i decided to greet him back with an equally violent and brutal band from my home country... so let's flood the upper deck with BM! i must tell you i love that new album and especially the ambiance it creates! to give you a hint before you launch with your soul and heart into it, let's say the music is in the line of early Satyricon (up to nemesis divina /mother north ep) but the ambiance is much more futuristic (a perfect balance in between IMHO)... every theme revolve around death, life and the universe! 1E 1740.7-2942 is even the name of a massive black hole discovered in 1979 in our milky way and dubbed The Great Annihilator! what do we do now?! let's sail on to our destiny and make it our next stopover! full sail ahead! enjoy!

DevilDriver - The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand 2005

i was introduced to Devildriver by a friend of mine some time ago (hi Raph if you read this! ^^) and i stuck to the band since then! =D indeed these metalheads play really awesome and ballsy songs, ....hearken fan of Impious!, rush to get that one if you don't have it already! equipped with riffs and breakdowns made of steel, that awe inspiring behemoth is gonna trample whatever stand in its way, so don't stand too close to your speakers! ah ah! the music itself is very groovy and catchy, to me it's like a sort of Nu-metal or some stuff in the line of Children of Bodom (minus the keyboard) but with a more aggressive, thrash/death like influence... the whole thing is punctuated with great leads (yummie!), and you can clearly hear that these guys are having all the fun they can! enjoy!

hey anyone around!??... after such a long absence, I'm finally back for good! My computer has experienced a whole series of goddamn problems... and at last today is the end of 'em all! after several tests, we found the motherboard of my new laptop happened to be faulty! =/ but it's just been replaced a few hours ago =D so now i can finally play that one album by a band from a small and fearsome island located in the south china sea that is called ...Taiwan!! ah ah! Anthelion is not the most original band ever, granted!, as like me they are likely to remind you of bands such as Cradle of filth, or Dimmu Borgir at their beginning (especially the euphoria album)....but they are pretty FOoOoo0oOOckIng (sorry i got carried away!ah ah ) brilliant in my view! actually they are the best I've hear for a long long time in that genre! well, i'm not going to speak volume about 'em ...suffice it to say the production is excellent and massive, just as the music itself ....and off you go!....TW once again proved itself an exhilarating and unpredictable place... and it kicked my unwary ass real bad!lol OJZ and enjoy!

Impious - The Killer 2002

Now that's it, the temperature gives no doubt about it, winter has stepped on our threshold and stand poise, watching and waiting for us! so as a welcome back, i opened my window, put the stereo on the sill and let a blaring hymn waft out in the air! if yours is powerful enough, it may even spread through the pane directly without having to open anything at all...press play, and everything will just be blown away!ah ah cause bare in mind Impious are some serious riffers, and still more on their latest album called Hellucinate (2004) or even Holy Murder Masquerade, released in 2007! i believe they are known to most of you as they have been (and still are!) around for quite a while...but just in case you missed these outstanding thrashers, i play them here! =D the album in itself is not outstanding, the very last one is far better in my view, but it's pretty decent and quite reminds me of The Crown / Crown of Thorns at times... a style which i appreciate much and have always been partial to... enjoy or die!

Catherine - The Naturals (2007)

hey! long time no see! ;) after 3 terrible crashes and 3 formatting of my computer ...I'm back online at last with no severe losses! well all is not completely back to normal as i need a new motherboard, mine as a defect and will be replaced next week hopefully! let's see the bright side of things, it gave me plenty of time to listen to music! =D that's how i have recently discovered Catherine and though i was a bit reluctant at first ....cause i don't like screamo-like bands that much, they have eventually convinced me after a few spinning! ah ah! indeed, their music is full of furious breakdowns, heavy riffing and angry, dissonant melodies! nice menu isn't it? the vox that seemed screamo to me in the first place are indeed more like hardcore in the end, though that impression comes back to nag at me to me from time to time!lol ...whatever, a pretty good band IMHO that requires to be checked out forthwith! enjoy!

Total Fucking Destruction - Zen And The Art Of Total Fucking Destruction 2007

TFD, that's what i call a name! ah ah! i was really surprised when i discovered that album and especially by the second part, which is ....unplugged material! no so often a brutal grindcore/hardcore band provides his audience with that kind of thing! the music is just brilliant in my view and rather original to top it all...i can sense some killwhitneydead's influence or spirit oozing around! beware!lol i don't mean they have copied KWD at all, what i mean by that is ass kicking riffing reminding me of brutal truth, and loads of heavy energy (no movie sound clips used here)....Total Fucking Destruction is totally fucking insane! brilliant! \m/

Norz Feuer - Pure evil substance

Winter is coming back so it's high time to exert oneself and prepare for a new upcoming battle! ....Quick! =P
This is a French band from Paris that was set up by people from a forum in 2004! It may sound like a joke (and it is one! ah ah!)...but when you hear that demo they released..well, one must admit that they made it out rather well, not to say brilliantly! the drum is performed by a machine and this is the only drawback in my opinion, but it is nevertheless very well programmed, not boring or repetitive at all...it is just that i like it better when it is a real drummer doing the job...but anyway, Norz Feuer performs an excellent black metal that all BM fan will definitely enjoy! the style is typical from what was done during the 90's (the best period to me!)....great vox, asskicking riff, pounding drums....let's face it...War is on and these French warriors will take part in it ! enjoy!

諫山実生 (谏山实生) - 恋愛組曲~One and Only Story~ のトラック

well no one seems to be around at the moment but it doesn't matter! you'll see it at one point or another when you come by .... Isayama Mio is often considered to be a pop artist but in my view she's definitely not that and to my ears, her music is imbued with jazzy melodies. She has a great and sweet voice that can at times be likened to that of 椎名林檎 (when she's not in a rock frenzy!lol) incidentally their music can somewhat sound similar as well, and to a certain extent i'd stake that if you like one there are good chances you like the other! an excellent and melodic album that should interest anyone looking for top notch easy listening =D

Биопсихоз (Biopsyhoz) - P.L.O.D (2007)

While, i'm strolling outside the metal sphere, i play this Russian band which glide about in an industrial world of his own! =) well it can somewhat sound like The prodigy or be even more on the other side of the metal fence and sound like real electronic music, like The Propellerheads ...overall, i would say they are a bit more on the metal side, but not that much! They sing in Russian and it sounds pretty cool for that kind of music in my opinion, the music pace is generally rather slow and more of the ambient/mesmerizing kind, like some Gothic stuff with ethereal voices and whispered lyrics...well, welcome into a new age, the dark era of state-of-the-art technology! ~~enjoy~~!

Gang Gang Dance - God's Money 2005

This is a band from the US, N.Y.C, that plays some sort of techno music...well if it's not techno at least it's electronic music. They have a very special style that i find very entertaining, they also remind me of some Japanese electronic music makers whose names i have forgotten! ah ah! What i like in particular in their music is the way they carry their listener from very peaceful ambiances to more apocalyptic ones...well apocalyptic is perhaps not the most befitting term as it's never really that aggressive (though it can be quite dark), but at times you just get the impression that there is no structure, nothing upholding what you hear, just as if it was not real! it's weird!lol to me that's the main strength of that album... like it's not really from this world! enjoy =)

Killwhitneydead - Never Good Enough for You 2004

Most of the time i like it the old-school way, but Kill Whitney Dead is definitely one of those new bands that caught my attention...i hope they caught yours as well! otherwise it's time to catch up with what you've been missing! As often you get into a store and you begin to browse the new stuffs they have and there right in the middle of that shit-load of unproductive followers stand a band with either an eye-catching cover or like it's the case for this band, funny titletracks... they really retained the grindcore spirit for that! the music is also a bit special as they use plenty of sound clips from horror movies or other stuffs, and overall they are really aggressive to woman! but i think it's just for the fun of it, just like those death bands who tend to be sorta clinical in their lyrics! well the album is pretty short but it's a cool one! enjoy!

Tanita Tikaram - Eleven Kinds of Loneliness (1992)

This is no metal, so lay back and take a good breath! I'm taking you back on the dusty track leading to the old boogie style and early r'n'r! ... in short welcome in the old south where the sun shines and the air smell like cotton..or is it rather some kind of tasty food wafting over to me?!lol Tanita Tikaram has a very pronounced bluesy colour in his music and at times it strongly reminds me of some albums by the Rolling Stones...like Beggar's Banquet for instance! but there are also many other influences, one of them being perhaps taken from Hawaiian music ...well on certain songs it sounds a bit like those overseas melodies to my ears .... overall, Eleven Kinds of Loneliness is a very peaceful and enjoyable album which you're going to like more and more as you fathom its content.... well at least i hope so! ah ah! =D

The Decemberists - Castaways and Cutouts 2002

Don't know if you've ever heard about that band as they apparently don't like too much to stand on the front line or under the spotlight... too bad for us cause we would gain from bringing them to another level of fame as their dreamy pop'n'roll is definitely top notch to my ears! that would change from the various shit broadcasted all day long on the air! ah ah they have something from all the best bands playing that kind of music, like the Beattles, Oasis, Neutral Milk Hotel ...and of course they have that poppy sound that is so very British! It's very strange to listen to how they managed to turn the kindda depressive mood we find in stuff by the Norwegian doom band called Godsend for instance into something which is still dark but so much sweeter.... A very dynamic and highly enjoyable album IMHO, really hope they release another one soon.... =D

Riverside - Voices in My Head (2005)

Riverside comes from ....Poland (again)! they play a very peaceful/emotional progressive rock that is very enjoyable to have a rest or just relax thinking about nothing =)the musicianship is very good though it is not spectacular (or demonstrative i should say) ...and i'm sure you'll appreciate it...Riverside often reminds me the quietest passages/ballads of Vanden Plas, if you happen to know the band...but they have something from Porcupine Tree's or even Floydian's atmosphere as well, with very ambiant and electronic sounds used to wrap the whole thing in... definitely a band worth checkin' out if you want any advice from me!

Nuit noire - Infantile espieglery 2006

As it is A bro's departure, i play this special album which is a band from my very homeland! i'm sure you don't know it as it is not very famous! ah ah! and as you will hear this is a very special kind of BM! the sound is really weird, like burzum first demo...sounds like raw punk to me! but this is done on purpose...the vox are also is burzum's early style, that is almost agonizing at times ..otherwise it's clear the rest of the time! this band has definitely a peculiar vision about what BM is but at the same time i really like the way they do it! you can't tell them they ahave copied from others! there are bands labeled art rock, well here it's almost like art black metal!lol whether you like it or not at least you won't have listened to many band like this! so let's get into it! \m/

Edward Box - Moonfudge

While we're dealing with guitar hero, i have one to play which is walking a fine line between boring demonstration a-la-steve-vai (though Vai has some interesting ideas from time to time! ah ah) and the bluesy style of Walter Giardino...actually he is not far from him if we consider playing only cause the music is instrumental rock from the 80's ... very good one as a matter of fact! ^^
in this album all the note are necessary and none is played for fun or merely as a display of "impressive" speed technique... if i may say so! ah ah! the track are well composed and never let you down yawning at a deluge of notes that would be thrown at your face ... cause there is (almost!lol) none of that! this guy has taken the time to gather good ideas and to put them together consistenly! each song has its character and even if it's not the most original way to proceed that has been used, it works well whatsoever! believe me this one gets better each time you spin it!

Criminal - Dead Soul 1997

Criminal comes from Chile and as you'll hear they are very remiscent of Sepultura's (in their Arise/chaos AD period) and i really love the drumming =D ...so i hope you like sepultura style!lol however Criminal are much heavier than usual thrash as they often sound more like death metal ...though the riff still follow the line of thrash metal all along... the lead parts are also catchy, and squealing! overall, let's just say that it's somewhat "classic" but VERY efficient... just like a good old Napalm Death album!! \m/(([[^^]]))\m/

Corruption - Virgin's Milk [2005]

Poland keeps amazing me with the number of great band it produces! Corruption plays some furious Heavy Metal, cause that's what it is to me, though you may have some other label for what they do! it's very groovy and heavy, and it may even sound more or less mainstream at times (i mean by that that it as something of FM like bands!ah ah) but if mainstream was like corruption's music then i would definitely go for it...unfortunately...i think i'll keep at bay for the time being!lol well, they certainly do not revolutionize the genre, far from it as you'll hear but if you like the old sabbath stuff (and good production!) or Cathedral then you should go for it, cause it's a pretty interesting band and you can hear the musican all have a good level! hope you enjoy!

Atrophy - Socialized Hate 1988

From the best period of Thrash metal, we have Atrophy which is/was an awesome band IMHO =) i hope this one has not been played before as there are plenty of thrasher here!lol well, it's fast agressive, with good riffing and speedy leads...not much to add about it! i think they have something from coroner (which i'm a big fan of) in the way they writte their material...i love the end of the titletrack Beer Bong! so raise your glass, off we go! \m/

Michael Shrieve - Two Doors - 1995

(sorry for the big cover, but i think it's nice!)

I was rummaging through my stuff and look what i found...an old dusty album for you! ah ah it's been years since the last time i listened to it, i had almost forgotten i had it! but beneath the dust is indeed a pretty shiny one, almost a masterpiece to me! the musician are of course very skilled =) the drummer (Michael Shrieve) is really good (...i know a retired drummer who's gonna be happy!), and i must also mention 2 other names at least cause on guitar we have shawn lane (before he got real famous) and Jonas Hellborg on bass! the other musicians are certainly famous but not to me!lol the music is in the best fusion style and shawn lane really delivers impressive sounds and leads! believe me, this one fusion album deserves to be in your collection (get yourself a copy if you find one) as it sometimes even turn out to sound metal! eh eh! so hope you have fun with it!
