Junius is band i already played, but this time they have released a full album =) the music is still in the same vein...which is great as those guys are brilliant! their style is a crossbreed between rock, metal, and postrock with a somewhat 80's feel to it...so there is plenty to get for everybody! if you like my previous plays about them you'll enjoy that one as well for sure! don't be shy, help yourself! =D

Chokebore - Motionless 1994

Chokebore is not the kind of band you would listen everyday from morning to night, but that doesn't mean they are not interesting! Music wise it's like rock or what some call grunge...broadly speaking, more or less like Nirvana kindda stuff. The thing is that the mood is quite depressing ...and that's when you'll enjoy this album the most....when you're down and angry at the whole fuckin' world round you for not being kind enough! ^^ so better grab this one... and the next time your mama spanks you for something you've not done, and you feel very very bad, like you want to kick the shit outta something, dont take it out on your toys, just press play and enjoy! ah ah =D

These Arms Are Snakes - Oxeneers or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home

TAAS is not very famous (more in the US than in Europe i'm sure howver) but their music is cool, they play some alternative rock and add some strange texture to their sound (especially on the bass). they have a cool tone, quite their own, which is not so easy =) saw them onstage and i must they they are like balls of energy, especially the vocalist who's really doing a performance besides his vox parts...the album is good, but if you see them around check them out, they are well worth it ... and perhaps they'll even pay a visit to your place one of these days ... after all they came to my small remote town ... ah ah

Smokers Die Younger - X Wants The Meat 2006

SDY is a band from the UK (Sheffield) so no wonder if you just feel like they have that Brit pop thingy sticking to them! but the band has many other facets to show and though they bring nothing really spectacular and over the top they should nonetheless be worthy of your attention...broadly speaking let's say they mix rock to post/art rock with also reggae and dub/techno ambiances at times...and they did not forget to add a smidgen of psychedelic notes that i like very much! like the hidden offspring of the White Stripes and 甜梅號! ...oh and another fact about 'em...they happen to have 3 vocalists!! ah ah! enjoy!

On A Dead Machine - On A Dead Machine 2005

On a Dead Machine comes from the U.S, and they play some music that i won't even try to describe!lol to give you an idea nevertheless let's just say it reminds me of bands like A Perfect Circle (a lot!), Tool...well you see the kind of stuff i'm talking about! it's both heavy and melodical with more furious passages really remembering screamo bands like Chevelle for instance (if that's a screamo band! ah ah!)! the album is pretty good but the production could have been better, especially for an album released in 2005 and considering the type of music they play, that is in which the sound quality is of the utmost importance...but anyway it's definitely worth a shot IMHO! enjoy

Junius - Blood Is Bright 2006

Junius is some Atmospheric rock band, a bit in the vein of Depeche Mode, The Cure or more recently A Perfect circle =) the album is pretty short (EP) and i hope they do a much longer one... but meanwhile this one is definitely worth it! there are not so many modern band that managed to capture such a spirit in their work while bringing at the same time a modern touch to the music...like "rejuvenated 80's style" to some extent! i guess many will find an interest in them! so enjoy, i think it's great..what about you??!! lol =)

Lullabye Arkestra - Ampgrave 2006

Lullabye Arkestra is definitely a strange band and i can tell that it's not intended at anyone!lol actually the beginning of the album is quite misleading and unrepresentative of the style of the band so don't let yourself be lured into their trap and remain on your guard!lol music wise it's noisy rock with a psychedelic coltrane like sax but of course it's not always like that! if you like stuff like sonic youth, the who and old trippy r'n'r (and even ska to some extent!) then you're likely to set foot on a familiar ground!
