Cypher - Darkday Carnival (2006)

Corruption and filth rise again inside! ah ah! a mischievous power has taken control once more, it's called Cypher! they come from Holland and this album is their evil debut! They have a borderline style between death and thrash which is worth checking out IMO if you like it heavy and loud!! the composition is pretty good and diversified, but for guys playing in a "thrash" style there's no lead (well only a small one!lol) on the album!! damn! the new generation is really far behind from that aspect compared to the rockin' 90's era!!*sob!* it's almost hardcore indeed, but that's the only "flaw" here, if i may call it that! another thing is that the vocalist is rather brutal and his voice is really good! he seems to sway between is Phil Anselmo's influences and his David Vincent's one!ah ah! cause as you'll hear, the vox are really reminiscent of bands like Morbid Angel and Pantera (well to me at least!lol)! as you have understood this album is pretty good and to conclude i'll just say that if they had only added 4 or 5 leads over the whole album, i would have called that one a masterpiece! \m/
